Reliance Jio is currently testing the service in four
cities: Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Varanasi. Telecom players Airtel and Jio are

Brands like Xiaomi, Redmi, Poco, Realme, Oppo, Vivo and they
all have 5G ready software installed on all supported phones.
The list of 5G compatible smartphones is available on the
Airtel website. Obviously, these phones don't need any updates. Airtel 5G Plus

Airtel claims that people will get 20 to 30 times 4G speed
in terms of voice call quality and internet speed. According to the company,
customers can enjoy 5G services with their existing data plan until the rollout
is complete.
No SIM card change required, existing Airtel 4G SIM card is
5G compatible. According to Ookla report, Airtel 5G Plus download speed in
Delhi was recorded at 197.98 Mbps while it was 271.07 Mbps in Mumbai.
In Kolkata, the average Airtel 5G download speed reached
33.83 Mbps and Varanasi reached the highest speed at 516.57 Mbps. As India
prepares for 5G, work on 6G has already begun.
Information Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, who is in charge of
technology development, believes that India will take the lead in 6G. 6G is the
sixth-generation mobile system standard currently under development for
wireless communication technology supporting cellular data networks.
6G will be faster than 5G and eliminate the problem - the
call is dropped, transferred, reach the nearest part of the city. Explaining
the government's efforts, the IT Minister said, "The government's
objective is to make India the technology hub of the world. The turnaround time
for telecom companies has increased from 300 days to seven days. Manufacturing
in India is our focus,” he said.
