Salman Khan's security was increased by the government of Maharashtra when he and his father Salim Khan received a threatening letter.

The home branch in Maharashtra has tightened the security of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan after a threatening letter was sent to him and his father, Salim Khan. Salman and his father received an anonymous letter on Sunday threatening to kill them. Bandra police have already filed a criminal complaint against the unknown person in the case. Further research is being carried out.

Now, according to the ANI news agency, the Interior Ministry of Maharashtra has tightened Salman Khan's security after the actor received a threatening letter. Early Sunday morning, Salim Khan was sitting on a bench by Bandra Bandstand, as was his custom, after a morning walk when an unknown man handed him a letter mentioning the threat of killing Salim and Salman, the officer said.

Later, with the help of his security guards, Salim Khan contacted the police and the FIR was registered with the Bandra Police Office under section 506-II (Criminal Fear) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
